
Hyderabad sources have reported that following the gruesome murder of Bengaluru-based journalist and rights activist Gauri Lankesh, journalist associations along with social activists, civil society organizations staged a protest at the Basheerbagh X Roads here in the city. Meanwhile the members of Journalist Association of India (JAI), Telangana Journalists Association, Telangana Union of Working Journalists and several other representatives of digital, print and electronic media gathered at the Jagjivanram statue and took out a rally till the Ambedkar statue at theTank Bund.
Sources have stated that the journalists unequivocally condemned the murder and demanded a thorough probe into the gruesome attack. They wanted the police in Karnataka to book the perpetrators. Earlier on Tuesday, unidentified assailants fired seven rounds at Gauri Lankesh when she stepped out of her car in front of her residence in Rajarajeshwari Nagar in Bengaluru city around 8 pm.

the rally.
