Suriya hooked up with Bala, the director of Sivaputhrudu, and even got involved in the film's production. Despite the fact that the project had been announced for several weeks, there were reports that it had been shelved due to artistic disputes. Suriya disproved them all with a single image. The film's filming was completed for one schedule, which ended at Kanyakumari, and the following schedule did not begin for a long time.

Suriya and jyothika were rumoured to be unhappy with Bala's writing and direction. Suriya wanted to contain the damage as soon as possible as the reports spread like wildfire. He shared a photo from the filming location, in which bala and he were seen discussing a shot. Suriya looked ragged and shabby, just as he did in Sivaputhrudu, and fans are expecting this film to be even better than that.

Despite the success of Sivaputhrudu and a few other bala films, the director has been unable to recreate the same magic in recent years. His films Paradeshi, Vaadu Veedu, and Nene Devudni were critically acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful. Suriya's telugu market has also changed in recent years, as his films ET, NGK, and a few more have all been flops. It will be interesting to observe how Suriya and bala design this film in order to wow the audience.
