The name of a big actor came out in this case, due to which there was an uproar in the entire malayalam film industry and questions were raised about the treatment of women.


After this case came to light, the government formed a committee in July 2017 under the chairmanship of retired Justice hema of kerala High Court. The committee spoke to the female artists of the malayalam industry and prepared a 295-page report. The hema Committee gave this report to kerala Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan in december 2019. Now after four and a half years, the government has released this report in which many revelations have been made about the discrimination against women in the malayalam industry and casting couch.


Actress shared casting couch experience

In this 295-page report, a malayalam actress has shared her casting couch experience. According to BBC, the report says- 'Before the project started, the director said that there would be some intimate scenes in the film. A day before the shooting, the director said that there would also be nude and kissing scenes in the film, and many parts of the body would be shown. The next day it was said that nude and bathtub scenes would be filmed.'

While talking to News18's Shosha, tanushree dutta had said about the report- 'I do not understand these committees and reports. I think they are useless. It took them seven years to prepare a report on what happened in 2017?'
