Kangana gets legal notice, accused of hurting sentiments…?

kangana Ranaut's most awaited film 'Emergency' has been surrounded by many controversies even before its release. The release of the film is in trouble. In fact, the Sikh community has been raising objections against the trailer of this film since its release and is demanding a ban on its release. Amidst all this, on Tuesday, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has sent a notice to the makers of the film including kangana and asked them to remove the trailer released earlier this month.

'Emergency' accused of hurting Sikh sentiments

SGPC Secretary Pratap Singh objected to the film and revealed that separate letters were also written to the Union Information and Broadcasting minister and the CBFC Chairman to ban 'Emergency'. They accused Ranaut of hurting Sikh sentiments and claimed that several "anti-Sikh scenes" had surfaced after the film's trailer was released.

GDPC and Akal Takht also objected

Last week, GDPC and Akal Takht had demanded an immediate ban on the film and claimed that it tries to "character assassinate" Sikhs by creating a narrative against them. SGPC chief harjinder singh Dhami told a press conference that he demanded an FIR against Ranaut and expressed objection to the film. He said that there have been many such instances in the past when Sikh sentiments were hurt due to the wrong representation of the community in films. Demanding a ban on the film, he called the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) "biased" and urged the inclusion of Sikh members in the censor board.
