With a little over three months left to kick off the BS6 regulations, most automakers have begun the process of making the switch to the cleaner emission norms and joining the latest model, the Fray is the Yaris. The BS6 compliance for the mid-size sedan of the toyota will be updated soon and we have the updated model from what to expect.

In BS6 guise, the Yaris will use a tweaked iteration of its current 1.5-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine. Though the performance in a drop-off is expected to be much higher with the cleaner technology, the toyota seems to have a limited range of powertrain that will continue to put out 107hp at 6000rpm, the same as the BS4-spec mill.

Moreover, the 6-speed manual and 7-step CVT auto including transmission options will also continue unchanged. The current petrol engine returns an ARAI-rated mileage of 17.1kpl in the manual version and 17.8kpl in the CVT version. It remains to be seen if these figures will be upgraded with a drop, as is often the case.
