Toyota has now come forward to set up a Rs 25,000 crore car plant in Sambhajinagar. maharashtra Deputy chief minister devendra fadnavis said that toyota Kirloskar Motor has decided to set up a car plant in Sambhaji nagar in Mahathwada. This will improve the Marathwada region. This is the beginning of industrial development in Marathwada. The Rs 25,000 crore plant will provide direct employment to 8,000 people.   Also, 16,000 people will be employed in the spare parts manufacturing company.

A total of 24,000 new jobs will be created.  The new plant will produce 4 lakh vehicles per annum. In the next three years, car production will start at the factory," he said. Till now, toyota was concentrating only on Karnataka. There are two factories in Karnataka. Last year,  Toyota announced that it would open a third plant and start production in 2026. Subsequently, the factory is being set up.  Toyota officials said the plant will manufacture both electric vehicles and petrol and diesel vehicles at Sambhaji.


The agreement was signed in the presence of maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde.  Earlier, a sub-committee of the maharashtra Cabinet had approved seven mega industrial projects worth Rs  81,000 crore. The factory is located in  Konkan, Marathwada and Vidarbha. These investments will be made in semiconductors, lithium batteries and green energy. A Rs  12,000 crore semiconductor manufacturing plant will be set up in Taloja near Mumbai. According to the maharashtra government, these projects will provide direct employment to  20,000 people.
