Maserati Eyes india as a Key Market with Ambitious Expansion Plans

Italian luxury automaker Maserati is aiming to make india one of its top ten global markets in the mid-term, driven by the country's entrepreneurial spirit and growing luxury market. Philippe Claverol, Maserati's Head of Overseas Markets, expressed confidence in India's potential despite the current low sales volume, with fewer than 50 units sold last year.

Maserati recently launched its GranTurismo model in india, priced from Rs 2.72 crore, and is exploring the introduction of its electric vehicle range in the country. Claverol indicated that while Maserati is not focused on high sales volumes, achieving around 500 units sold annually in india is a feasible goal in the coming years.

India's luxury market, known for its high appreciation of premium products and a significant number of entrepreneurs, aligns well with Maserati's brand. To strengthen its presence, Maserati is expanding its dealership network, with new showrooms opening in Mumbai, Delhi, and soon in Bengaluru.

Regarding electric vehicles, Maserati plans to assess the market, train staff, and establish infrastructure before launching its Folgore range in India. Claverol emphasized that the company is committed to entering the electric vehicle market as soon as possible, with readiness for a potential launch being a priority.
