Two New Vande Bharat Trains to Enhance Connectivity from Madurai

Prime minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate three new Vande Bharat Express trains on Saturday, expanding the fleet to 54. The new routes include Chennai-Nagercoil, Madurai-Bengaluru, and Meerut-Lucknow, each aimed at improving regional connectivity across Uttar Pradesh, tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.

The new Vande Bharat trains will significantly enhance travel options for several key destinations:

Madurai-Bengaluru: This train will link madurai in tamil Nadu with Bengaluru in Karnataka, covering the journey in 7 hours and 45 minutes from madurai and 8 hours and 15 minutes for the return trip. Stops will include Dindigul, Tiruchchirappalli, Karur, Namakkal, Salem, and Krishnarajapuram before reaching Bengaluru Cantt. This route is expected to benefit business travelers, students, and other commuters.

Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil: This new service will connect chennai Egmore with Nagercoil, close to Kanyakumari, covering 726 km across tamil Nadu. The train will stop at Tambaram, Villupuram, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, madurai, Kovilpatti, and Tirunelveli. It aims to serve pilgrims visiting temples such as the Arulmigu meenakshi amman temple in madurai and the Kumari Amman temple in Kanniyakumari.

The Vande Bharat Express, introduced on february 15, 2019, under the 'Make in India' initiative, is known for its comfort, speed, and luxury. With over 100 services now operational, the Vande Bharat Express connects more than 280 districts nationwide, enhancing the travel experience for millions.

These new additions reflect ongoing efforts to improve train services and offer modern, efficient travel options across India.


Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat train to Launch Soon

The new Vande Bharat Express train on the Meerut-Lucknow route is set to enhance connectivity between these key cities. The train will complete the journey in 7 hours and 10 minutes from meerut and 7 hours and 15 minutes from lucknow, with stops at Moradabad and Bareilly.


This service will facilitate travel between Meerut—an industrial hub known for sports goods, musical instruments, sugar, and electronics—and lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The new route will also benefit travelers heading to and from Moradabad and Bareilly.


This addition will be the second intrastate Vande Bharat train for Uttar Pradesh, bringing the total number of Vande Bharat services in the state to 11. Current routes include connections from varanasi to delhi, varanasi to Ranchi, lucknow to Dehradun, delhi to Ayodhya, delhi to Dehradun, Gorakhpur to Prayagraj, delhi to Bhopal, and patna to Lucknow.


The Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat will be the second dedicated service for lucknow, complementing existing routes that stop in the city, such as Gorakhpur-Prayagraj and Delhi-Ayodhya.
