Trial Run for anand vihar RRTS Set for November

The anand vihar Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) is nearing completion, with the final touches underway. The 42 km stretch, which currently operates between meerut South and Sahibabad, will see its trial run commence in november on the 6.5 km segment between Sahibabad and anand Vihar.

Anand vihar, a major transit hub in delhi, connects millions daily to various destinations via trains and buses. The new RRTS will integrate with the delhi Metro, the railway station, and the interstate bus terminal. The delhi section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor spans 9 km, with 4 km elevated and 5 km underground.

According to a report by TOI, an official from the National capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) stated, “The elevated bridge work from anand vihar to Sahibabad is complete, and track laying is underway. The trial run of the Namo Bharat train will begin in November.”

Construction on key stations including Sarai Kale Khan, New ashok Nagar, and anand vihar is nearly finished. The anand vihar RRTS Station will be the only underground station in this corridor, designed for efficient passenger movement with dedicated pick-up and drop-off points. The station will be linked to Chaudhary charan singh Marg via three bridges over the Ghazipur drainage, facilitating smooth vehicle and pedestrian access.
