Maruti Suzuki once again showed its power!
India's largest car manufacturer maruti Suzuki recorded its highest ever sales in the financial year 2024-25. This year the company sold a total of 22 lakh 34 thousand 266 cars, out of which 17 lakh 95 thousand 259 cars were sold in india and 3 lakh 32 thousand 585 cars were exported.
This year there was a decline in the demand for hatchbacks, while the popularity of the SUV segment increased rapidly. There has been a decline in the demand for small cars like Alto, Swift and WagonR. While there has been a jump in the sales of SUV cars like Frontx, Brezza and Grand Vitara.
Decline in demand for hatchbacks
Sales of some popular hatchback models of maruti Suzuki were lower in 2024-25 as compared to 2023-24. mini segment (Alto, S-Presso) – 142,094 units were sold in 2023-24, while this number dropped to 125,770 units in 2024-25. Compact segment (Baleno, Dzire, Swift, WagonR) – 828,015 units were sold in 2023-24, which dropped to 770,737 units in 2024-25.
Record increase in SUV car sales
On the other hand, the SUV segment saw a huge jump. SUV sales – 642,296 units in 2023-24, while increased to 720,186 units in 2024-25. Total sales of passenger vehicles (PV) – increased to 1,760,767 units.
FRONX and GRAND VITAR created a sensation
maruti Suzuki's SUV cars like FRONX, BREZZA, ERTIGA and GRAND VITAR registered tremendous sales. FRONX became the best selling car for a month. FRONX's sales were more than the company's hatchback cars. maruti Suzuki is going to launch more new SUVs in the coming time.
