Facebook has suspended former US President Donald Trump's account for two years for violating its policy. The decision has been taken as he never followed the rules imposed by the company. We all would remember the riots that happened at the US Capitol on january 6th and Donald Trump's posts on facebook were inciting violence.

However, the board ruled it was wrong to make the ban indefinite and gave it six months to determine a "proportionate response."Trump's suspension was effective from the initial date in january and will only be reinstated if conditions permit. The social media giant in a blog post said, "Given the gravity of the circumstances that led to Mr. Trump's suspension, we believe his actions constituted a severe violation of our rules which merit the highest penalty available under the new enforcement protocols."

Social media has tightened the screws in recent times as several leaders and politicians are violating the guidelines. facebook is now criticized and also being appreciated for this suspension act. Trump's suspension was the first time facebook had blocked a current president, prime minister or head of state. Stay tuned for more updates.
