Salem district Superintendent of police Abhinav has ordered a re-investigation into the case of former tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa's driver kanagaraj who died in an accident.

Jayalalithaa's driver kanagaraj, who is the main accused in the Kodanad murder case, was engaged in a car accident on april 28, 2017, near Attur in salem district.


However, Kanagarajan's brother Danapal and his wife Kalaivani continued to claim that kanagaraj did not die in the accident and that they were suspicious of the incident. In this situation, salem district Superintendent of police Abhinav has ordered to re-investigate the case regarding Kanagaraj's death.

The commotion was sparked by the issuance of a re-investigation order headed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police.


The murder and robbery took place on april 23, 2017, at the Kodanadu estate owned by Jayalalithaa. In this incident, the guard Om Bahadur was killed and important documents of the estate were looted. Jayalalithaa's former driver kanagaraj, who was added as the main accused in the case, died in a car accident near Attur in salem district five days after the incident.

Attur police have registered a case and are investigating. Kanagaraj's brother Danapal denied that the incident was a road accident. His death was said to have been suspected.


While the police investigation into the Kodanadu estate murder and robbery incident is in full swing, salem district Superintendent of police Sri Abhinav has obtained the permission of the court and has started a re-investigation into Kanagaraj's death. Thus, the Kodanadu case has begun to heat up again.
