National pollution Control Day: Significance of the day

Environmental pollution affects our health and also our quality of our life. Our role as humans also adds to the growth rate of pollution. december 2nd is celebrated as National pollution Control Day in our nation to ensure people get aware of the dangers of polluting the land, air, and water. The awareness is to focus on industrial waste and disasters like the bhopal Gas Tragedy.

        The history of this day: National pollution Control Day is hailed today in memory of all the people who lost their devoted lives in the bhopal gas tragedy. They lost their lives on december 2nd night and december 3rd in the year 1984. More thousands of people lost their lives because of the discharge of a harmful chemical named Methyl Isocyanate(MIC) which happened accidentally. 
The biggest industrial catastrophes happened that day and the organizations are also fighting for justice till now for the lost lives and those who live with the consequence of gas leaks.
 
There may be a few careless decisions like:  After it was discharged into the surroundings, the preservation of the gas did not happen. Improper safe and security system. Storing the oil in small tanks than bigger ones. Very harmful usage of chemicals like MIC than others.
 
Significance of National pollution control day:
According to the reports, more than 7 million people die every year due to pollution of air. Around 9 out of 10 people are affected by the lack of clean air. Indoor air pollution also affected 4 million people. The pollutants in the air enter via mucous membrane and damages the brain and lungs.
