On a suit filed by entrepreneur raj Kundra demanding interim relief, the supreme court sent notice to the maharashtra government. In one of the cases involving a pornographic video racket, the supreme court awarded him four weeks of protection from arrest. Kundra's anticipatory bail motion, submitted in november in conjunction with an FIR filed against him by the Metropolitan police in the porn film racket case, was denied by the bombay High Court. After the high court denied remedy, Kundra went to the supreme Court.

Kundra, who is married to actress shilpa Shetty, initially requested interim relief from the court premises, which denied him. He then went to the bombay high court, saying that he had been falsely accused. After hearing arguments in the case, a bench comprised of Justices Vineet saran and Aniruddha Bose awarded Kundra shelter of arrest and set a hearing for four weeks later. Kundra was defended in the supreme court by advocate-on-record shakti Pandey and attorney prashant Patil.

For allegedly disseminating sexually explicit movies, the mumbai Police's cyber cell registered a lawsuit against Kundra under the indian Penal Code, the Indecent Representation of women (Prevention) Act, and the Information technology Act. Kundra stated he had no involvement in the production, publication, or distribution of allegedly illegal recordings. In July of this year, he was arrested by the mumbai police Department in connection with another case in which he was accused of selling pornographic films using an app. Kundra was released on bail in September.
