Because of the escalating number of COVID-19 cases, the 15th edition of the jaipur Literature festival (JLF), which was planned to run from january 28 to february 1, has been rescheduled for march 5-14, according to the organizers. The event, which will be held in hybrid mode, is projected to attract some 250 authors, intellectuals, politicians, and pop culture stars from around the world. From march 5 to 9, it will be virtual, and from march 10 to 14, it will be in person.

"We have decided to reschedule the festival for march 2022, in light of the introduction of the new variety and the substantial increase in the number of cases across the country. We're still committed to bringing the festival back to jaipur as an on-the-ground, immersive event that encourages discourse, conversation, and debate about books and ideas "Sanjoy K Roy, the festival's producer, said in a release. On Friday, india reported 1,19,000 new cases of Covid-19, as the virus keeps spreading at a breakneck speed, fueled mostly by the virulent Omicron form.

This year's festival will move from its regular venue, Diggi Palace, to Hotel Clarks Amber, jaipur, with additional facilities to meet footfalls and adhere to COVID-19 safety procedures set down by the government.
