The kerala High court has granted actor dileep relief by ordering police not to arrest the culprit in a case for reportedly intimidating investigative officials investigating the actor's sexual harassment till january 27. The panel stated that plotting is the same as committing a felony while reviewing actor Dileep's anticipatory bail application. Actor Dileep's lawyers said that the case against him in the actor assault case was concocted, and that the detectives and prosecutors were hell-bent on putting their client behind prison.

"They are now fabricating new stories five years after the accident happened. They should present some credible evidence to back up their claims "Dileep's lawyer pleaded his case. All of the defendants in the indictment would be willing to appear for an hours-long interview, but not for a "roving inquiry," according to the defense. The prosecution, in rejecting the bail plea petition, stated that the matter would require the actor to be questioned for at least five days. They also promised the accused that they would not be persecuted.

On january 9, police launched legal action after a lead investigator submitted a complaint based on an alleged audio clip of dileep planning to attack officials probing the rape of an actress in 2017. The audio clips were released shortly after a filmmaker, Balachandrakumar, made some shocking allegations about dileep in the actress rape case on television. Bhavana, the victim, was a Tamil, Telugu, and malayalam starlet who was kidnapped and allegedly assaulted for two hours inside her car by some of the perpetrators.
