The tamil Nadu government stated in the chennai High court that "no one has stopped me from studying Hindi; the policy has been decided to follow the bilingual policy in tamil Nadu." The central government has declared the National education Policy 2020 in a suit filed in the chennai High court by Arjunan Ilayaraja, secretary of the Cuddalore-based charity Alamaram, with the goal of bringing about a consistent and balanced education system in the country.

Tamil Nadu has been a vocal opponent of the National education Policy, which was announced after extensive consultation with a variety of experts and committees. For political reasons, such as the imposition of hindi and sanskrit, it is illogical to reject the national education strategy, which stresses mother-tongue instruction.

Hindi and sanskrit are not required under the National education Policy. The need to learn different languages in addition to one's mother tongue is emphasized. It is unlawful to reject hindi, the country's official language, while admitting english as a foreign language. The tamil Nadu government's actions against the National education Policy, which aims to improve educational quality, would cause the state to fall behind in education. As a result, the petitioner requested an injunction requiring tamil Nadu to execute the National education Policy 2020.

The judges questioned why it was so difficult to implement the trilingual policy and why it was so difficult to add another language, given that the policy was followed in both karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. He stated that tamil Nadu has made the policy choice to implement the bilingual strategy. The Central and State governments were then given four weeks to respond to the petition, and the case was adjourned.
