During the debate on the Mines and Minerals Grant proposal in the tamil Nadu Legislative assembly, provisions such as the mandatory installation of GPS equipment on vehicles transporting minerals to combat illegal mineral smuggling were announced. The implementation of welfare schemes for quarry workers funded by the tamil Nadu Construction workers Welfare Fund, including the use of modern technology to monitor and stop the smuggling of minerals to neighbouring states, will be carried out at a cost of Rs. 1 crore during today's debate in the tamil Nadu Legislative assembly on the Mines and Minerals Grant Demand. minister of Mines and Minerals Duraimurugan made a number of major statements, including the amount of money set aside for it.

He made five significant announcements:

> To combat illegal mineral smuggling, GPS devices will be installed in vehicles transporting minerals.

In order to combat illegal mineral smuggling, vehicles transporting minerals from mines and quarries should be directly monitored by computer technology, as should all vehicles transporting materials. As a result, tenants and vehicle owners will be required to install GPS technology in their vehicles.


> The tamil Nadu Construction workers Welfare Fund will undertake welfare plans for quarry workers in order to ensure the welfare and safety of those who work in quarries.

Through the tamil Nadu Construction workers Welfare Fund, steps will be taken to implement the basic facilities required for quarry workers, such as safety equipment, childcare, drinking water facilities, housing, social welfare facilities, and medical facilities, while also considering the welfare and safety of workers in all mines and quarries operating in tamil Nadu.
