In order to form an alliance with his political rival Lalu prasad Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal, nitish kumar, the leader of the NDA's ally Janata Dal (United), severed ties with the bharatiya janata party once more on Tuesday. This action paved the way for a "Mahagathbandhan 2.0" ahead of the 2024 lok sabha elections. Political observers assert that there are significant differences between Nitish's departure from the nda in 2013 and the current situation in 2022.

What and how much of the JD(U) supremo's influence as a leader in bihar politics is still discernible from the latter's breaking coalition with the bjp in 2013 and again in 2022? Following his protests against the then-chief minister of Gujarat, narendra Modi, in 2013, nitish kumar left the BJP. However, instead of resigning from the position of chief minister at the time, he instead dismissed Sushil Kumar Modi, along with all of the ministers from the bjp quota, from his government. At the time, the bjp claimed that the JD(U) leader had hurriedly resigned from the nda coalition.

However, it is very evident that nitish kumar will leave the nda in 2022. For a very long time, political insiders had forecast what stance he would take on certain issues. This time, bjp leaders were fully aware that the JD(U) chief was planning to exit the nda coalition in bihar, therefore it was unexpected that the saffron party made no attempt to stop him from doing so.
