Representatives from the telugu Film Chamber of Commerce met again on wednesday after holding a preliminary round of discussions on monday to develop an action plan to rescue tollywood, as the telugu film industry is known, from the crisis brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic in the previous two years. After bollywood (Hindi films) and kollywood (Tamil films), tollywood is the third-largest film industry in the nation in terms of the number of films produced; it produced 238 films in 2019, 63 in 2020, and 204 in 2021, with an average turnover of about 1,000-1,200 crore annually.
