The election commission of india has ruled that the Jana Sena party, led by Pawan Kalyan, can continue to use "glass tumbler" as their common election emblem in the upcoming elections. The ECI stated in a recent communication that the Jana Sena party could use the same emblem for the next elections because it ran for office in Andhra Pradesh's previous assembly and lok sabha elections using a glass tumbler as its symbol throughout the state.

The leaders of the Jana Sena party were a little concerned about the election symbol because the ec had previously listed the party as one of the non-recognized political parties because it had not met the requirements to be recognised as a state party. In accordance with ec regulations, a party will be recognised as a state party if it wins at least 2 seats in an assembly election and at least 6% of the total valid votes, or if it wins at least 8% of the total valid votes in an assembly or lok sabha general election.

However, the Jana Sena party only received 5.54 percent of the vote and only secured one mla seat in the 2019 assembly elections. As a result, it does not have the status of a recognised political party. It is not qualified for a common election symbol because it is an unrecognised party, so it must select a new symbol from the list of available free symbols. As a result, the glass tumbler is now listed among the free symbols.
