Days after Christmas, unidentified criminals damaged a statue of Jesus Christ at a church in Mysuru, Karnataka. On wednesday night, the tragedy happened in Periyapatna town in the Mysuru district. The police said that the unidentified criminals damaged the Jesus statue that was kept at the altar. They did not, however, harm the primary Jesus statue kept in the church.

Officials claim that the vandalism took place while the church priest was not there. Officials also stated that the money from the contribution box was taken. police investigators have started their inquiry and are looking into the incident from all possible perspectives.

"To find the offenders, a squad has been assembled. Additionally, we are searching for nearby CCTV footage. A money box and other items of this nature have been removed, thus it appears to be theft. More investigation is being done, "said seema Latkar, the superintendent of police in Mysuru, to the news agency ANI. There are further studies under progress and this is not the first time such an incident against another religion is happening here. The locals are venting their rage as Christians are treated as minorities and every time a Jesus statue is vandalized there has been nil repsonse from the authorities too.
