The indian film industry has long viewed female-centric films as experimental. Even though bollywood previously created a large number of these movies, it is only now that the South is producing them. The impact of female-centric movies is now demonstrated through a banner in Chennai. Four films with a focus on women were recently released and did well at the box office. Prior to their release, all movies generated a lot of discussion and excitement in the film community and on social media.

From Nayanthara's Connect to Kovai Sarala's Sembi, four movies were able to capture viewers' interest. On december 22, Connect, a film by Ashwin Saravanan, was released. Later, on december 30, aishwarya Rajesh's driver Jamuna was made public. In addition to tamil, telugu saw the release of both of these films. Raangi, starring Trisha, and Sembi, starring Kovai Sarala, both debuted in tamil on december 30. Only Kovai Sarala's film, out of these four, was able to clearly demonstrate its dominance over the others.

At the same time, all four releases have been dreadful flops at the box office and even the critics have bashed out the movie. Nevertheless, it's a good sign these star actresses have stepped up and improved from just being glam dolls.
