A series of earthquakes hit turkey on february 6, killing more than 45,000 people and ripping a village in two. The village of Demirkobru in turkey was split in two. The village of about 1,000 residents said fortunately no one was killed, but some were injured, AFP reported.

What happened in the village during the earthquake?
The small village of Demirkobru was split in two after devastating earthquakes killed more than 46,000 people across turkey and neighboring Syria. On saturday (February 18), the village was hit by a huge crack in Hatay.
Houses were buried:
Following the earthquake, houses in the village sank four meters (13 feet). It turns out that the land has sunk lower than it ever has.

Disrupted streets:

The village streets where people once walked and the surrounding areas are a remnant of ruins. When the earthquake struck, people ran around. After the first earthquake, villagers moved to areas designated by the authorities to shelter people. However, the place also cracked after the magnitude 7.8 earthquake. The people saw this and were horrified. Rescue efforts are mostly focused on the ancient city of Antakya, 20 kilometers from Demirkobru, which suffered the devastating effects of the earthquake.
Damaged buildings & devastating aftermath:

Local people say that after the earthquake, water came up from underground and stagnated on the land. A rift in the village has split a village into two.
