By starting a padayatra, lokesh seems to be preparing for the approaching election. Even though it's still a year away, things are heating up. For each constituency, lokesh is now choosing candidates a year in advance. Even if lokesh is introducing candidates at his meetings, it is unclear whether he is doing it in accordance with Chandrababu, the party's leader.

Concern exists, nevertheless, over the commitments made at these announcements. Will the pledged candidate be replaced if a stronger contender wins a certain constituency? If so, how are they going to persuade the replacement candidate? lokesh has so far announced candidates for the chittoor district's Satyavedu, Nagari, Palamaneru, Chandragiri, and kalahasti constituencies.
