Before the holi celebration, a mosque in aligarh was covered with tarpaulin to prevent it from being stained with colour. The Abdul Karim Masjid at Aligarh's most sensitive intersection, the "Halwaiyan," is covered with a tarpaulin at night on the direction of the police administration on holi in order to keep peace and order and prevent it from being covered in colour during Holi.
Notably, just like the previous holi celebrations, the mosque in the sensitive area was also covered with sheeting at night to prevent anyone from dousing it in colour.
"On the orders of the administration, we cover the mosque with tarpaulin so that no one can throw colour or dirt in the mosque," Haji Mohammad Iqbal of the mosque's management committee said.
Aqeel Pahalwan, a local, stated: "The temple has been covered in Uttar Pradesh ever since yogi Adityanath's administration took office for roughly six to seven years. We cover the mosque with the assistance of the government to prevent colour or dirt from being thrown inside."
Holi celebrations have already started, even though the holiday is still a few days away.
