Russia will benefit from a ceasefire in ukraine, America opposes China's proposal saying this

Ukraine War: Kirby, using China's official abbreviation the People's Republic of China, said, 'We certainly do not support the demand for a cease-fire that the PRC will call for at a meeting in moscow that will benefit Russia.

A white house spokesman said friday that the united states opposes China's demand for a ceasefire in ukraine because it would benefit russia and help the Kremlin prepare for a new offensive. "We do not support the call for a ceasefire right now," National Security Council spokesman john Kirby told reporters ahead of Chinese leader Xi Jinping's visit to moscow next week.

"We certainly do not support the demand for a ceasefire that the PRC will call for at a meeting in moscow that will benefit russia," he said, using China's official abbreviation, the People's Republic of China. The united states has been helping ukraine against Russia's aggression for the past year. He is concerned that prioritizing a ceasefire will ease pressure on Russian forces and allow the Kremlin to consolidate its hold on large swathes of territory.

"Once the ceasefire is in place, russia will be free to use it to further strengthen its position in ukraine, rebuild, reorganize, and refresh its forces," he said. This would enable them to resume attacks on ukraine at any time of their choosing. Kirby reiterated that President Joe Biden plans to speak with Xi by phone, but said there is no call scheduled at this time. Although the President has made it clear that he is willing to talk with President Xi, the process has not yet been initiated
