Just when the filmmakers are thinking out of the box and we are getting gems, we also get shitty movies like Rudhran aka Rudhrudu. After watching the movie, we wish the interim ban stayed and the movie never got a release.
Coming to the plot, Rudhran's whole world revolves around his mother and he does anything for her. However, he has to face the consequences of corporate criminal Boomi and he loses his family members. Finally, how he wins the battle against Boomi and exposes his criminal network forms the rest of the story. This century-old story was directed by a debutant Kathiresan and we hope he gets a red card for directing such a shitty movie.
'Rudhran' also marks the second collaboration of lawrence -Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>raghava lawrence and Sarathkumar after 'Kanchana'. However, sarath kumar looks as if he's lost somewhere in the middle of nowhere in this villain characterization. Raghava Lawrence's trademark mannerisms are annoying as hell and whenever he screams, everyone in the theater laughs. It's better you direct 'Kanchana 4' and do the same screaming.
Priya Bhavani shankar as Dr.Ananya has nothing to do with other than being a dumb-ass character. She falls in love instantly and she sings a duet even higher at the speed of light. nassar and bhagyaraj -Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>poornima bhagyaraj as Rudhran's parents does the same as Saranya Ponvanna did a dozen times earlier. Neither GV Prakash's songs nor sam CS Background score works out. Balayya's 'Veera simha Reddy' action scenes got famous due to memes and trolls and without realizing that, lawrence had roped in the same stuntmen and delivered even higher troll material under the name of stunt sequences. 
This 2023 tamil New Year is definitely a bad one for tamil cinema as Rudhran and Thiruvin Kural are equally bad and unwatchable. Rudhran goes a top-notch higher and becomes a completely SHIT movie.
