DIG Vijaykumar Shoots Himself Dead - Reason?


C Vijayakumar, a deputy inspector general of police (Coimbatore range), committed suicide on friday morning at his camp office in the Race Course region of tamil Nadu. He reportedly shot himself in the head with his service handgun. According to reports, vijayakumar took a stroll this morning before showing up at his camp office at 6:45. When he arrived, he asked his Personal Security Officer (PSO) to surrender his gun. After leaving the workplace with the gun, he shot himself to death at about 6:50 a.m. Senior police officers were promptly contacted by colleagues working in the camp office, who quickly dispatched them to the spot.

Suicide Reasons That Might Exist - According to sources close to Vijayakumar, he had been having difficulties sleeping for a few weeks and was very depressed. The actual cause of his choice to commit suicide, however, is unknown. To shed more insight into this unfortunate incident, authorities are undertaking additional investigations.

Career of Vijaykumar 

On january 6, 2023, vijayakumar took over as the Deputy Inspector General of police for the coimbatore range when his predecessor, MS Muthusamy, was transferred to the Vellore range as the DIG. Vijayakumar, an IPS employee who graduated in 2009, has held a number of positions over the course of his career. His prior positions included superintendent of police in the districts of Tiruvarur, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, and Kancheepuram. Before being elevated to the rank of DIG and assigned to the coimbatore region, he additionally held the office of Deputy Commissioner of police in Chennai's Anna Nagar.
