Ravi used to run a firecracker shop and kiosk in a building owned by Arogyaswamy on Netaji Road, krishnagiri District, on the way to Murugan temple in Old Peta. Near that shop, Rajeshwari runs a restaurant. In the same area, there are welding shop, hotel, water company and residences.Ravi, as usual, is packing crackers in a cracker cotton. His wife Jayashree, children ruthika and Ruthees were there at that time.

This morning, around 9:30 o'clock, a sudden explosion was heard. A nearby firecracker cotton exploded and burst into flames. The fire spread to nearby shops and residential areas. On hearing the information, krishnagiri fire brigade personnel rushed to douse the fire. After that, the collapsed buildings are being removed by pogoline and the dead bodies are being recovered.

It is known that 9 people have died so far - Ravi, his wife Jayashree, son Ruddish, daughter Rutika, who ran the firecrackers kiosk, Ibrahim and Imran, who ran a welding shop nearby, Rajeshwari, who ran a hotel, Sarasu and James, who worked in a water company.  

More than 10 people were injured. The body parts of the people who were in the firecracker shop were thrown away and the body parts were scattered in the area. At the time of the accident, 4 people were injured in the hotel.
