Bhola shankar is a remake of the tamil Blockbuster 'Vedalam'. But what baffles me is, during the title credits, it says “Story Development - Meher Ramesh”. We are not sure what development Meher did but he completely fails in presenting chiranjeevi apart from a 10-minute sequence post the interval. chiranjeevi has stooped down his levels and is imitating Pawan Kalyan. Mr. chiranjeevi garu will Rajini imitate ajith or Vijay or will amitabh imitate Shah Rukh Khan? Then why you are doing such things in your movie?
The opening part of Bhola shankar is as antiquated as they get. Everything looks dated and feels at least a few decades old, from the comedy to the action to the song picturization. The only player who appears to be good enough to go to the second half is Chiru. Keerthy suresh looks like a confused puppy for most of the scenes. She hardly emotes and when she does it becomes a cringefest.
In their attempt to replicate the well-known navel scene from Kushi, chiranjeevi, and sreemukhi evokes puke. In addition to the obvious age gap, Chiru's participation in this moment makes the entire sequence seem out of character. Even A Broken Clock Is Right Twice A Day, But meher ramesh sir could not make at least two Good scenes. tamannaah is just a filler in this nothing-good script and she couldn't do much either.
Technical-wise, the movie is not captivating. 70's script with 80's dialogues and so on. Bhola Rage BGM and Bhola Mania song is good. Those are the only positives that we could find in this garbage. While the first half is completely ineffective, the second half is tolerable but still lacks oomph. Script and narrative that are out of date and fall short.
