When a quarreling couple is killed by seasoned criminals while driving at night on a highway, the killings are covered up as a traffic accident in the opening scene of The Road. Therefore, when we find out that meera (Trisha), the main character of the movie, and her family are about to on a road trip, we start to worry. However, there are a few sequences of family cutesiness that must be endured before her husband Anand (Santhosh Pratap) and son Kavin embark on the fatal journey, which might make us uncomfortable due to how phony they are.

Thankfully, the movie gets down to work and starts telling two stories at once. On the one side, we have meera adjusting to her loss after finding that the accident was staged and attempting to solve the crime with the aid of Subramani (MS Baskar), a police officer, and Anu (Miya George), a friend. professor Maya (Shabeer Kallarakkal), who teaches at a college in a hamlet near Madurai, is shamed when a female student who is unhealthily smitten with him accuses him of sexual assault.

With the way these two tonally distinct tunes come together, director Arun Vaseegaran surprises the audience. The investigative portion mostly succeeds, and the filmmaker is successful in keeping the mystery a secret until the big reveal. The movie also takes advantage of Trisha's weakness by making us worry about her security. One scene in particular, set in a labyrinth of rocks, is particularly exciting. However, the finest aspect of the movie is how it makes us feel sorry for the bad guy. This section's writing is strong, and it helps us understand how a key character changes.

Once the name of the perpetrator of the terrifying atrocities on the highway is revealed, the movie, however, starts to seem quite generic. It seems as though the movie decided to linger on since it had run out of plot points at that point. The sound background soundtrack (by sam CS) overwhelms us into a state of surrender, and the filming is as effective.
But Shabeer Kallarakal, who makes the most of a part with complex undertones and gives a memorable performance, is the real star of the movie.

Overall, A Watchable Crime Thriller!
