A big gold theft costs a jewelry business Rs. 200 crores. The authorities are suspecting the infamous thief japan (Karthi). KS ravi Kumar, the home Minister, calls for a prompt settlement. japan claims he wasn't the criminal when the cops corner him. The mystery is solved in the main film, revealing the true offender and Japan's future course of action.

The film rapidly deteriorates from its strong beginning because of a dull plot and shoddy writing. director and writer Raju Murugan fails to create a compelling cat-and-mouse game in Japan. A more concise screenplay by Raju Murugan may have accelerated the movie's pacing. The picture gains little from Anu Emmanuel. She seldom makes an appearance for longer than ten minutes at a time, and even her interactions with karthi are uninteresting. The movie lacks a gripping plot and well-developed characters. We're not making the most of KS ravi Kumar. Even though there are a lot of action scenes in the film, they may have been better arranged to appeal to a wider audience.

At some point, we literally wonder which scene is a flashback episode and which is present. The editing is completely pathetic and the music by gv prakash is even worse. After Vijay got a disaster with 'Suraa' for his 50th movie, karthi got a 'Japa' for his 25th movie. karthi should be very choosy in selecting scripts and he has failed miserably this time. This movie isn't even worth watching on a OTT.
