According to Gaza's Hamas leadership, the dead toll in the Palestinian enclave has risen to 14,854 since the conflict began on october 7 between Israeli troops and Hamas fighters. According to the Hamas administration, 6,150 children and 4,000 women were killed, with another 36,000 injured. Its health ministry has previously stated that it is unable to provide exact tolls because to severe fighting that has prevented remains from being collected.

According to Israel's national security adviser, the release of hostages under a temporary truce between israel and Hamas militants would not take place until Friday.

Earlier on Wednesday, israel and Hamas agreed to a four-day cease-fire in Gaza in return for at least 150 Palestinians imprisoned in israel and at least 50 hostages held by Hamas in the Palestinian area.

According to Israel's state channel Kan, the agreement was delayed by 24 hours since Hamas and mediator qatar did not sign it. The official expressed confidence that the deal will be executed once it is signed immediately.

"Negotiations for the release of our captives are ongoing," stated Israeli National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi in a statement issued by the Israeli prime minister's office.
