Telangana elections 2023: Polling going on peacefully...

Polling for telangana elections is going on in full swing. Polling will be held till 5 pm in 106 constituencies out of 119 constituencies, while polling will end at 4 pm in 13 Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected constituencies. As polling is underway to elect 119 members to the telangana Legislative assembly, voters lined up to exercise their right to vote amid tight security. Voting began at 7 am in 35,655 polling stations across the state, officials said. While polling will be held in 106 constituencies till 5 pm, polling will end at 4 pm in 13 Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected constituencies. There are 3.26 crore eligible voters in the state, including 1,63,13,268 male and 1,63,02,261 female voters. 2,290 candidates including chief minister Kalvakuntla chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), his son minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (KTR), State congress President A revanth Reddy, bjp Lok Sabha members bandi sanjay kumar and D aravind are in the fray. The Model Code of Conduct came into effect in the state after the election commission announced the schedule on october 9.BRS has fielded candidates for a total of 119 seats. According to the bharatiya janata party seat allocation agreement, 111 seats are contested, while actor Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena is contesting 8 seats. congress has given one seat to its ally cpi and is contesting 118 other seats. Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM has fielded candidates in nine segments of the city. Chief Electoral Officer Vikas raj said that 2.5 lakh personnel will be engaged in election duties for the assembly elections. Around 77,000 security personnel comprising 375 companies of Central Armed police Force (CAPF), State police, and home Guards from Union and neighboring states have been deployed across the state as part of the election security arrangements.For the first time in telangana, disabled persons and voters above 80 years of age have been given the facility of door-to-door voting. The election commission (EC) has directed all private companies, including IT companies, to declare a holiday on november 30 so that employees can exercise their franchise. The counting of votes will be done on december 3. The results will be out almost on the same day.
