'Bye-bye, KCR,' chant congress workers in support of Revanth...
A sense of success surrounded telangana congress head revanth reddy, a front-runner for the chief ministerial post, as celebrations erupted in the state as the congress eyed victory with a simple majority in the state polls. Thrilled party members yelled "CM-CM" in support of Reddy. Along with chanting "jai congress," "Revanth Anna zindabaad," and "bye-bye KCR," they also detonated firecrackers. reddy had earlier written on X with a sense of victory, saying, "Yesterday, today, tomorrow you are my strength.Congressmen took action to defend Telangana."
As per the most recent ec update, the BRS was leading in 39 segments while congress was leading in 65 of the 118 seats it was contesting.
Following their encounter, reddy embarked on a state-wide tour with DGP Anjani Kumar. He saw a large contingent of people waving the party flag and applauding him. Congressmen celebrated by drizzling milk over posters of congress parliamentary party chair sonia gandhi and party MP rahul gandhi as the party easily passed the halfway point.
After forming the government in karnataka earlier this year, the congress would now be firmly established in the southern states with the victory in Telangana. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), led by K Chandrashekar Rao, has controlled the 119-member telangana assembly since 2014. The incumbent's hopes of winning a hattrick would be dashed if the congress wins.
