Rashmika Mandanna, who plays Gitanjali in Animal, wrote a lengthy letter about her character as the film continues to dominate the box office. The film, directed by sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir Kapoor, received mixed reviews. rashmika appears as Ranbir's girlfriend, with whom he marries and has children, but subsequently cheats on her.

Speaking about her character, which elicited conflicting opinions from people who saw the film, rashmika stated that she, too, had doubts about her performance. She penned, "Gitanjali. If I were to characterize her in one line, it would be the only thing keeping her family together at home. She is unadulterated, genuine, powerful, and unfiltered. As an actor, I have questioned certain of Gitanjali's behaviors."

"And I recall my director telling me, 'This is their story.'" It was their love and passion, their families and their lives - this is who Ranvijay and Gitanjali are. Gitanjali would offer peace, trust, and tranquility to a world filled with violence, hurt, and unbearable sorrow. She would pray to her Gods to protect her husband and children. She was the rock that could withstand any storm. She would go to any length for the sake of her family. Gitanjali is stunning in my opinion, and in some ways she resembles most women who stand strong and protect their family daily." She went on to defend her role in the film.
