In a new, enlarged phase of the war, israel has dramatically intensified its strikes on the Gaza Strip, killing hundreds. At least ten people were killed and several more were injured when Israeli soldiers targeted a family house in southern Gaza's Khan Younis early Saturday. This comes after the Israeli military announced on wednesday that its soldiers were operating "in the heart of Khan Younis" for the first time.

The Israeli military has targeted over 540 targets in Gaza via land, sea, and air in the previous 24 hours, the highest since a truce with Hamas fell apart last week. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called the situation in Gaza a "spiralling humanitarian nightmare" and claimed that no people were safe.

Meanwhile, the US rejected a UN Security Council resolution demanding an urgent humanitarian cease-fire in Gaza, which was supported by practically all other Security Council members. The decision, with 13 members voting in favour and one abstaining, diplomatically isolated Washington while protecting ally Israel.

According to ANI, quoting the Times of israel, the israel Defence Forces (IDF) stated it attacked a manned Hezbollah observation station in lebanon during its operations. The Israeli military also said it had identified a group of operatives at an anti-tank missile launch point, where the prior strike was carried out.
