What is the 'Maha lakshmi Scheme'?

The Mahalakshmi scheme is designed to benefit women, women of all ages, and transgenders residing in the state of Telangana. They can travel anywhere within the telangana state borders free of cost in government buses from december 9. Travel in inter-state government buses is free for the beneficiaries up to telangana state borders. Also, plans are underway to develop a software-based "Maha Lakshmi" smart card, the state government said. It has also been informed that women can travel for free in government buses by just showing their residence ID card.
