Telangana Transport Department has struck gold with unique numbers. The sale of fancy numbers brought in Rs. 45.98 lakh for the Khairatabad transit office on monday alone. The highest price was Rs. 17,35,000 for the TS 09 GE 9999 number, while the lowest bid was Rs.1,01,999 for the TS 09 GF 0007 number.

People actively seek out distinctive numbers for their automobiles, such as lucky numerals, birthdates, or memorable sequences. Individuals had to pay a charge for these unique numbers when they were first established two decades ago. As demand grew, an auction mechanism was implemented, which proved extremely profitable for the transport department. Offices in three Greater hyderabad districts are seeing a revenue surge, with authorities expecting income to exceed last year's Rs. 72.7 crores if the current trend continues.

The auction of fancy numbers in the districts of hyderabad, Rangareddy, and medchal is expected to raise Rs. 53.9 crores by September. The number 9999 continues to be a popular choice, with the highest bid this year reaching Rs. 21.6 lakhs. The excitement is spreading throughout the world, as evidenced by a person in dubai setting a Guinness World Record by spending Rs. 122.6 crores for the world's most expensive automobile license plate.
