As per report a massive fire broke out in Gopaldas Bhawan in New Delhi’s Connaught place. As many as 15 fire tenders have been rushed to the site. The fire erupted on the 11th floor of the high rise building. Just a couple of days ago, one person and an elderly man suffered nearly 30 per cent burn injuried after three shanties were gutten in fire in east Delhi’s Shakarpur area. Meanwhile a PCR call was received regarding the blaze around 8 pm at the Shakarpur police station, following which the fire department was alerted, a senior police officer said. Initial probe suggested that at first some tyres caught fire, following which the flames engulfed the shanties nearby, the officer said.

Last week, a massive fire erupted in a paper warehouse in east Delhi’s Mayur vihar on Sunday. The incident occured in Chilla village of Mayur vihar Phase 1. The information about the blaze was received at about 12:42 pm and 23 fire tenders were pressed into service, an office from delhi fire services (DFS) said.

Moreover the fire broke out at the ground floor of the building, he said, adding that efforts are on to douse the blaze. Wooden materials worth lakhs of rupees were gutted in the fire. The blaze, suspected to have erupted because of a short circuit, was doused by 2:15 pm, the official said.
