A cyclonic circulation over the equatorial Atlantic and the adjacent southwestern portion of the Bay of bengal will be the driving force behind the new spell of rain. The Regional Meteorological Centre in chennai predicts that light-to-moderate rainfall will begin on december 25 and continue in numerous parts of tamil Nadu till december 28. The weather department's regional office also stated that rain is expected to begin falling on december 30 and might continue until january 1.
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has stated that it will continue to monitor the Northeast monsoon's retreat, even if some parts of the State may have regular patterns of light to moderate rainfall till the end of the year. Days after intense rains battered several tamil Nadu districts, the state is still experiencing waterlogging. Many of tamil Nadu's roadways are still flooded, which results in lengthy traffic jams at several crucial intersections. According to the administration, the department is attempting to remove the water from the roads as a result of damage sustained during the rainy season.
