Political travelogue
In 1990, Vijay Shah was elected to the assembly on bharatiya janata party ticket from Harsud assembly constituency of Khandwa district.
In the assembly elections held in the year 1993, Kunwar Vijay Shah was again elected assembly member from Harsud with a huge vote.
In 1998, Kunwar Vijay Shah was elected to the assembly for the third time.
In the assembly elections held in the year 2003, Kunwar Vijay Shah was elected mla from Harsud for the fourth time. And became the culture Minister.
In 2008, he was elected to the Legislative assembly for the 5th time from Harsud and became the minister for Tribal Castes in the Council of Ministers of Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
In 2013, he was elected to the assembly for the sixth time from Harsud constituency and took oath as Food minister in the cabinet.
In 2018, Harsud was elected to the assembly for the seventh time from the constituency but due to the formation of the congress government, he remained in the role of opposition. After the fall of kamal nath government, he once again got a chance to become a minister in Shivraj government and took oath as cabinet Forest Minister.
In 2023, he was elected to the assembly for the eighth time from Harsud constituency, this time even after the change of Chief minister, the party trusted him and made him a cabinet minister.
