The event is currently being investigated by the security and forensics sections of the delhi Police. A spokesman for the Israeli Embassy responded to the situation in the interim. Guy Nir reported to Reuters that on tuesday night, there was a "blast" close to the indian capital's embassy. After the explosion, none of its employees were hurt.
Israeli Embassy spokesman Guy Nir told the agency, "We can confirm that there was a blast at close proximity to the embassy around 5:20."
He said that Israeli and indian authorities were working together to find out what caused the explosion. Ohad Nakash Kaynar, the deputy ambassador of israel to India, stated: "An explosion happened near the Embassy this evening, a few minutes after five o'clock. Our employees and diplomats are all secure. Our security teams are fully cooperating with the delhi police and will look into the situation further."
The indian media was informed by an eyewitness that he also heard a tremendous sound.
