The box office fight between Shah Rukh Khan's "Dunki" and Prabhas' "Salaar" has sparked not just nasty fan conflicts but also controversy. Allegations arose that Hombale Films, the creators of "Salaar," removed box office-related social media posts, escalating the rivalry amongst fan groups. The newest scandal focuses on incorrect information about the movie' OTT release dates.

A viral ad stated that "Salaar" would be accessible on Netflix as a Sankranthi gift on january 12, while another image said that "Dunki" would be available on jio Cinema on january 1. Investigations, however, found that both pieces of news were false. "Salaar" will not be available on OTT in january, while "Dunki" will be available eight weeks after its theatrical release. The disinformation was spread after Prabhas' anti-fans shared a phony poster for "Salaar" on january 12, forcing Prabhas' supporters to reply with a similarly fake and manipulated image for "Dunki."

After his previous film, Dunki, had a lukewarm reaction at the box office, director Rajkumar Hirani appears to be confused these days. The film made 310 crores in its first week globally, but much more was expected from Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan, especially following 1000-crore blockbusters like Pathaan and Jawan.
