Salaar has grossed over $8.2 million (65 crores) at the movie office in the United States. Outside of SS rajamouli films, this is Tollywood's highest grosser. Despite such large figures, the film is regarded as an underperformer since, except the telugu version, the other versions failed to meet expectations. Salaar's hindi version has only made about $1.5 million, which is pretty disappointing. Kannada, Tamil, and malayalam versions have performed considerably worse.

Because of Salaar's underwhelming performance in other languages, distributors in the united states are reportedly unwilling to spend more than 50 crores for pushpa 2. The makers are estimating 100 crores, but purchasers consider that anything beyond 50 is a hazardous gamble. The overseas market for telugu pan-India films has been disappointing. Pushpa's producers are working hard to secure a higher contract, but it appears that buyers are wary of recent industry biggies, except rajamouli films.

Salaar was not a sequel, but prabhas and Prashanth Neel's brand following kgf should have performed better in other language versions. pushpa is a sequel, which offers it a significant advantage over Salaar. However, other from Allu Arjun, there are no other huge names associated to it in terms of other language audiences, which makes it a bit tough. It is impossible to deny that Salaar's underperformance overseas has put a pall over the pushpa 2 company.
