The box office for prabhas and prithviraj Sukumaran's mega-budget movie 'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire' dropped dramatically on Tuesday, january 2. The action picture, directed by prashanth neel of 'KGF' fame, is still on track to gross Rs 650 crore globally. This is the first major collection drop for 'Salaar' since its first release. Because there are no significant releases in all languages, the film will remain in theatres till Pongal/Sankranti.

'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire' was released in five languages worldwide on december 22. The film competed in theatres with Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki,' which opened on december 21. In its second week, Prabhas' 'Salaar' continues to wow audiences. However, for the first time since its debut, the film's box office took a significant hit on january 2. According to early estimates in India, the film made Rs 7.50 crore, which is about half of the total for january 1.

'Salaar's' 12-day total collection is at Rs 369.42 crore. The film is also approaching the Rs 650-crore milestone globally. On january 2, the telugu version of 'Salaar' had a 20.15 percent occupancy rate in India. prashanth neel of 'KGF' fame wrote and directed 'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire,' an action-packed drama. This is Prashanth's first work with the film's heroes, prabhas and prithviraj Sukumran.
