The renowned director responded to the question straightforwardly and appropriately.

When asked why it took him so long to reconcile with kamal haasan, mani ratnam said that he couldn't tell. He went on to say, "It's difficult when you have an actor of that caliber who has done multiple things. So, unless you have good reasons, do not approach him simply because you have previously worked with him. Hopefully, we'll be able to bring some sort of character back on screen."

When asked about ego clashes while working with major actors, the ponniyin selvan director said that he does not believe stars have strong egos when working on a project. He went on to say that if he is clear about his goal, they are willing to delegate decision-making authority. He also added that the stars and the director had a mutual trust.
