Today, Netflix withdrew Lady Superstar Nayanthara's 75th film, Annapoorani, after the vishwa Hindu Parishad alerted the film's producers that it might offend Hindu feelings. However, the film is still available for viewing on Simply South, a streaming service open to persons in the United States. Subscribers may only watch it in Tamil.

Jai, Sathyaraj, KS ravi Kumar, Redin Kingsley, achyuth Kumar, Kumari Sachu, Renuka, karthik Kumar, and suresh Chakkaravarthy all had significant parts in this film. Netflix has pulled Nayanthara's newly released film, 'Annapoorani', after complaints about it harming 'Hindu feelings' got louder. Ramesh Solanki, the creator of the Hindu IT Cell, filed a FIR against the film. Shriraj Nair, a vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader, warned Netflix to remove the film. 'Annapoorani', directed by Nilesh Krishnaa, premiered in cinemas on december 1 and began streaming on Netflix on december 29. Within a week, various groups took issue with the film's content, which they felt was 'anti-Hindu'. Most of the netizens even asked to ban Valmiki's Ramayana as the movie speaks what is mentioned in the book!
