Cine1 Studios has filed a court petition with the delhi High court to prohibit the release of the film "Animal" on Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms. They claim to be one of the producers of the film, starring ranbir kapoor and directed by sandeep Reddy Vanga, which was a huge hit in 2023.

Cine1 Studios claims that a profit-sharing and intellectual property rights agreement was in place with Super Cassettes industries (T-Series), the other production company involved. According to Cine1, they were entitled to 35% of the film's income and intellectual property rights. The complaint claims that T-Series engaged in film-related operations spent costs, and received box office profits without Cine1's permission and without meeting the profit-sharing agreement. sandeep Sethi, Senior Advocate for Cine1, claimed that T-Series neglected to give details on the film's income, box office receipts, music, satellite, and internet rights. He emphasized the lack of regard for the agreement notwithstanding a long-standing partnership.

Senior Advocate amit Sibal, representing T-Series, argued that Cine1 did not invest in the film and cited an alleged revision in which Cine1 renounced intellectual property rights for ₹2.6 crores. The court deferred the lawsuit so Cine1 could address the purported alteration. Cine1 requests a hold on the film's OTT distribution until T-Series meets contractual obligations, such as profit share, due credits, and disclosure of related agreements.
